After-School Science Kids (ASK) Program

Science North's After-school Science Kids (ASK) program offers hands-on, fun educational science activities with healthy snacks, a homework club, science-based activities, science centre time, outdoor discovery, special science guests, and much more!

Currently, we have spaces available for children ages 4 to 12. Prices are $12.00 per student per day for members and $13.00 per student per day for future members. ASK begins in September 2016 and runs until June 2017 (entire school year). This program will be offered in both French and English starting in September 2016, with some part-time spots available in select programs.

Part-time spots require a minimum 3 days a week commitment and will be available in select programs starting in September 2016. Prices are $12.50 per student per day for members and $13.50 per student per day for future members. Spots are limited so reserve your spot today!

This is a unique program that allows us to explore the world of science nightly after-school through the science center, hands on activities and science guests.

Some of our special guests have included Dr. Philip J. Currie from the University of Alberta, who has discovered and named dinosaurs; Marc Garneau, Canadian astronaut; and Dr. James Delgado, expert on the Titanic.

Due to bus routes, participating schools include:

  • Alexander Public School
  • École St Denis
  • École publique Hélène-Gravel
  • Holy Cross Catholic Elementary School
  • MacLeod Public School
